The Oak Mountain High School girls golf team celebrated its first state championship appearance after a decade of dedication and growth. Coached by Susan Schwartz, the team achieved a fourth-place finish in the Class 7A state championships. Notable performances included freshman Kate Nickles finishing fourth and seventh-grader Reese Powell tying for tenth. Despite challenges, including weather conditions and strong competitors, the team showed significant progress and resilience. Schwartz praised the young team’s rapid development and teamwork, highlighting their bright future in the sport.

Sounds wild, but the 2024 season is behind us. The season wrapped up on such a thrilling high, culminating with our first trip to the state championship. But, we now look forward to next year, our 2025 season! If you see one of our champs, wish them luck as they continue to grow, develop, and prepare for the 2025 season!
